Going for gold
Dr. Lee Fuiman, going up for a spike, played in the U.S. Amateur Volleyball Championships in Dallas last week. The team he plays with, from Baton Rouge, La., but with players from Texas, Colorado and Pennsylvania, took seventh place overall in the 55-60 age group, which is the best they’ve ever done. Last year, the team won the Silver Division, which was ninth overall. This year, for the first time, the team made it to the Gold Division. Fuiman is director of The University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas.
