Kids invited to explore Coastal Bend wetlands
Looking for a fun, educational, coastal-oriented activity for the family to enjoy this summer?
The Mission Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) is offering Early Estuary Explorer Labs, designed especially for families with children ages three to seven years old.
The labs will allow participants to learn about Coastal Bend wetlands through science, exploration, crafts and more. Topics will include plants, crustaceans, mollusks and storms and will change weekly.
Programs will be conducted from 10 a.m. to noon on Fridays, beginning tomorrow, June 3, and continuing until Aug. 5, at the Wetlands Education Center at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute.
Cost is $4, payable by cash or check only, for each participant, including adults.
Programs are limited to 24 participants, on a first-come, first-served basis.
