Sunrise service set
A community-wide interdenominational Easter Sunday sunrise service will be held on April 24.
The service will be a joint gathering of the Community Presbyterian Church, the First Baptist Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Trinity-bythe Sea Episcopal Church and Grace Community Church. Services will begin at 7 a.m. under the Fred Rhodes Memorial Pavilion at Roberts Point Park.
Pastor Tricia Tedrow from Community Presbyterian Church will deliver the sermon.
Offerings collected at the service will benefit the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Port Aransas.
In addition to the annual sunrise service, area churches will hold special Holy Week services.
The Community Presbyterian Church, 113 S. Alister St., will hold a Maundy Thursday on April 21 at 7 p.m., and Easter Sunday service at 11 a.m.
St. Joseph Catholic Church, 100 N. Station St., will hold a Holy Week mass and washing of the feet on Thursday, April 21, at 5 p.m. and Good Friday reading of the Passion and Veneration of the Cross on Friday, April 22, at 5 p.m. Easter Vigil will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 23. Mass will be held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
Trinity-by-the-Sea Episcopal
Church, 433 Trojan St., will have a soup supper at 6 p.m., on April 21, followed by Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m., with a vigil beginning at 8 p.m. Good Friday liturgy will be at noon, with Stations of the Cross available all day. Easter Day Eucharist will be at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
The First Baptist Church, 200 N. Station St., will have a Good Friday service at 7 p.m., and Easter Sunday service at 11 a.m. Babysitting is available.
Grace Community Church, 1801 S. 11th St., will have Easter Sunday service and communion at 10 a.m., and a potluck meal at noon.
