PACT sets the stage for next show
How about a date night at the Port Aransas Community Theatre?
Performances of the adult comedy “Move Over, Mrs. Markham” will begin Thursday, April 21, running Thursday through Saturday until April 30, at 7:30 p.m. One matinee performance has been scheduled for Sunday, May 1, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for Friday and Saturday performances and $10 for Thursday and the matinee performance. No other discounts or coupons will be accepted for $10 performances.
The play, for mature audiences, takes place in an elegant top floor London flat and follows Philip and Henry, partners in a failing book publishing company. Henry is a cad who repeatedly cheats on his wife, Linda. Linda decides that she, too, will have an affair using the Markham flat. At the same time, Alistair the decorator, is planning to use the flat to seduce the au pair, Sylvia. Add in the successful author, Miss Smythe, who arrives to hire Philip and Henry as her new publishers and the result is lots of twists and turns that keep the plot moving along.
Written by Ray Cooney and John Chapman and directed by Alan Gardiner-Atkinson, the story is told in two acts. The cast, in order of appearance, includes Tamera Merson as Joanna Markham, Alan Gardiner-Atkinson as Alistair Spenlow, Evie Ericson as Sylvia, Jackie Baird as Linda Lodge, Bob Ericson as Philip Markham, Juan Cardenas as Henry Lodge, Jack Dreessen as Walter Pangbourne, Rita Brown as Miss Smythe and Kim Wilson as Miss Wilkinson.
