Anglers will kick off this year’s fishing tournament season on Saturday, March 26, at Fred Rhodes Pavilion at Roberts Point Park in Port Aransas. The Cabela’s Redfish Series series, which starts then, claims to be the largest redfish tournament trail in Texas, averaging more than 100 teams for the past three years. Prizes include a first prize of $10,000 for the series.

Teams of two fish one-day tournaments with artificial lures for two slot redfish. Tourneys are televised regionally on Fox Sports SW, and will be aired nationally.

This year, sponsors added the “Cabela’s Angler’s Cash” prize, where the highestfi nishing team registered for the award will receive a $250 Cabela’s gift card for the first three events. The final event, in Port Lavaca, features a $1,000 gift card.

To enter, anglers should visit www.redfishseries.com and sign- up for the RAA ( Redfish Angler’s Association) membership and download the sign-up forms and rules and regulations. Teams wanting to enter Tour Rewards need to sign up soon, because when any of the four tournaments reaches 125 teams, anglers will no longer be able to register for Tour Rewards.
