Bargain hunters will want to get a good night’s rest before heading out to the Citywide Garage Sale on Saturday, Jan. 29.

More than 50 garage sales will be held at locations all around Port Aransas.

A listing of participating homes is provided on Page 4A. Maps will be available after 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 27, and all day Friday, at the Port Aransas City Hall, 700 W. Ave. A; Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce-Tourist Bureau, 403 W. Cotter Ave.; Parks and Recreation office, 739 W. Ave. A; and CenturyLink, 219 E. Ave. C.

Sellers who would prefer to sell their items at the Port Aransas Community Center may rent tables for $20 each, with no limit on the number of tables you rent. Sale hours at the Community Center will be 9 a.m. to noon. Jointly sponsored by Keep Port Aransas Beautiful and the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department, the event is held each year to encourage recycling, re-using and re-purposing unwanted but usable items, as well as reducing the amount taken to the landfill.
