Travis Lynn Sowders, the owner and operator of TLS Beach Rentals in Port Aransas for eight years, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010.

He was the youngest of nine children born to John and Ruby Durham Sowders in Waco on Nov. 26, 1947.

Sowders moved to Aransas County after retiring as an electronic technician nine years ago.

He enjoyed beach kayaking.

Surviving him are his nephew, Kevin (Verna) Ashcraft, brother, sister and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 4 p.m. on the Port Aransas beach at Avenue G.
