Ray A. Rexford of Montezuma, Kan., and Port Aransas died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010. He was 67.

Rexford was born March 28, 1943, in Dodge City, Kan. to Chester and Nadene (Dowell) Rexford. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Fort Hays State University in 1966. In college, he received flight training and also was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

After his marriage to Melva Jones in 1966, he began a farming career with his father in Gray County.

He enjoyed flying, fishing, hunting, water skiing, skydiving and drag racing.

He is survived by his son, Ondre Rexford of Concord, N.C.; his father, Chester Rexford of Montezuma; and his sister, Beth Acoya of Santa Fe, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 30, in Meade, Kan. Interment will follow.
