The Kiwanis Club Community Birthday Calendars will be available for pick up beginning Monday afternoon, Jan. 3, from Tootie Barnes at American Bank, 216 S. Alister St.

Originally due for pick up on Dec. 30, the calendars have been delayed a few days due to set backs at the printers.

Birthdays, anniversaries and memorials of friends and acquaintances are listed in the community calendars.

Additional calendars are available for $5 each for those who did not order one in advance.

Home delivery can be arranged by contacting Suzanna Reeder at (361) 960-1617. Be sure to leave a name and address if you get a recorded message.

A Port Aransas tradition for 49 years, the calendar was started by the Mother’s Club, a pre-PTO organization, and eventually taken over by the Kiwanis Club.

Residents are invited each year to list their birthdays, anniversaries and memorials for 50 cents each. Those wishing to have their important family dates remembered in the 2012 calendar can contact Tootie Barnes at the bank through July, 2011.

All proceeds from the calendar sale will go to fund scholarships for graduating Port Aransas High School seniors.
