‘Aladdin, Jr.’ opens Dec. 9

More than 20 Port Aransas youths, in grades first to sixth, will perform in Disney’s “Aladdin, Jr.” at the Port Aransas Community Theater, 2327 State Hwy. 361.
Performances will run for three shows only, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec 9-11, at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $5 and are available for purchase online now at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/ event/134350. Directed by Ken Yarbrough, the play is produced in partnership with the Port Aransas Independent School District with special arrangements with Musical Theatre International.
The production will take audiences to Agrabah, the City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tale. Aladdin, Jasmine, and, of course, the Genie will entertain with magic, mayhem and flying carpet rides. Audiences can tap their feet to Academy Award-winning songs including “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me.”
Students are involved in every aspect of the production, from set design and costumes to playbill production.
