The VFW Post 8967 will be at the Family Center IGA, 416 S. Alister St., on Sunday, Nov. 21, to collect supplies to send to our military personnel serving overseas this holiday season.

Volunteers for the Support Our Troops Drive will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the collection.

Donations of supplies also can be taken to the VFW, 311 N. Alister St., anytime.

Items needed include non-perishable food, such as jerky, canned meat and fruit, nuts, cookies and non-melting candy; travel size toiletries, such as shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and foot powder; and personal items, such as writing paper, pens, AA and AAA batteries and small games. A detailed list of helpful items is available at the VFW.

All items should be small since they will most likely be carried in a backpack. No pork, aerosal cans, glass or opened containers will be accepted.
