Recycle electronics, plants, more
Everyone will have a chance to help do something good for the environment and for others at Texas Recycles Day.
Keep Port Aransas Beautiful, the Goodwill Industries and Dell Reconnect partnership, and the City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department will host the recycling and plant and book swap on Saturday, Nov. 13.
From 9 a.m. to noon, folks can bring unwanted computers, computer accessories, monitors, game consoles, printers, scanners, fax machines and small electronics to Fred Rhodes Memorial Pavilion in Roberts Point Park.
Also accepted will be eyeglasses to be redistributed by the Lions Club, ink cartridges for recycling and cell phones for reuse. Specs Liquor store will be on hand to take any wood or plastic corks and donate money for cancer research for each cork.
Plants, trees, cuttings, rootings, seeds and books can be dropped off to share with neighbors. Everyone is invited to take plants, even if you don’t have anything to swap.
Not accepted at the event will be televisions and microwaves.
