Fall Back Festival is Saturday

Each year, folks in Port Aransas welcome the coming of fall and the end of Daylight Saving Time in true Port Aransas style, at the Fall Back Festival.

This year, the celebration, featuring food, wine, music and fun, will be Saturday, Nov. 6, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the outdoor courtyard area of the shops at Pelican’s Landing, at Alister and Roberts streets.

Benefiting the Port Aransas Community Theatre, tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased at Gratitude Gift Shop, 316 N. Station St. or at the “door” of the event.

Back by popular demand will be Fortune Telling by Madame Lu from 8 to 10 p.m. Also part of the fun will be a costume contest, with prizes awarded.

Due to illness, Dick Neely and his band will not be able to perform at this year’s event. The new musical entertainment will be The Minefield, with Eddie Olivarez Jr. on saxophone, performing swing, pop and the old standards from the 30s, 40s and 50s.

A Chinese auction, with $1 tickets, will feature a variety of prizes donated by Port Aransas merchants.

Glazer’s Wholesale Liquor and Wine Distributors out of Corpus Christi will provide libations.

Participating restaurants offering samples of their specialities are Fins Grill and Ice House, Kody’s Restaurant and Bar, Pelican’s Landing, Port A Pizzeria, Hooks Barbecue and Grill, West of Key West, Hadyee on the Side Catering. More restaurants may be added to the list.
