Harris was born in Orange on Oct. 31, 1925 to Australia (Young) and Hugh Harris.
He was retired from Chevron and was a member of Cove Baptist Church. He was on the school board at Cove Independent School District and was a board member for WESCO Little League.
Haris was preceded in death by his mother; father; stepfather, Walter Dyson; first wife, Viola “Totsy” Harris; second wife, Lou Harris; and brothers, Luther Harris and Clifford Harris.
Survivors include his children, Barbara (Butch) Apgar of Gonzales, La., Floyd (Angela) Harris of Euless, Brenda Mire (Dale) Robert of Gonzales, La., Pam (Richard) Sims of Orange, Phyliss (Joe) Matte of Vidor, Jerry (Lonna) Harris of Spring, Jackie Keith, Glenn Keith, Sandra Keith, Beane, and Alan Keith; 31 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchild; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rollo and Wanda LeDoux, Wilbert and Gladys LeDoux and Vic and Pat LeDoux.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 26, in Orange.
