“Safford Sunday,” an open house to give community members an opportunity to bid the Rev. Richard and Vernett Safford farewell, will be held Sunday, Oct. 3.

Safford has been pastor at Community Presbyterian Church for the past 23 years. He has accepted a call to a church in Angel Fire, N.M. His last Sunday in the pulpit will be Oct. 10.

The open house, with refreshments, will be at 2 p.m. in the Pollock Center behind the church at 113 S. Alister St.
