LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Keep the lease
The Port Aransas Computer Center intends to continue serving the community and visitors for many years. We are providing a valuable service to all socioeconomic levels, offering classes, games for the kids, individual assistance, scholarships, printing, scanning, e-mail, use of flash drives, research.
As a user and a volunteer, I, the board members and 14,968 visitors to the center last year, sincerely urge the City of Port Aransas to continue its lease of the building with Nueces County.
Bee Johnson, PACC Board Member Port Aransas
Faith restored
A Port Aransas crisis of major proportions was averted. At a time when the public trust of journalism in general waffles below that of lawyers and only slightly above politicians, there stands one bastion of truth willing to do the necessary research to root out the truth of a catastrophe – the Port Aransas South Jetty newspaper.
When the South Jetty learned that Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream was no longer available on the island, they went to the source, the Family Center IGA.
EDITOR
They learned that a disruption in the supply chain had rendered the island void of this necessary dietary component.
Whereas “The Truth Can Make You Free,” Ben & Jerry’s requires a caring, compassionate vendor, willing to move quickly to solve the problem. I am happy to report that Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, as of Aug. 28, is again available at the Family Center.
My faith in journalistic integrity and corporate America is renewed.
