Join the Port Aransas Garden Club at it’s first gathering for the 2010-11 year, “Ropesville Rodeo - A Centennial Celebration of Port Aransas.”

The Texas-style gathering will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, at the Port Aransas Community Center, 430 N. Alister St. Members and their spouses, friends or significant others, as well as those who wish to become members, are invited to attend. Dress for the evening is Texas casual.

On the agenda will be the schedule of events for the year. Those who have not yet paid dues for the year, $15 per person, will have an opportunity to do so. Checks also can be sent to PAGC @ P.O. Box 681, Port Aransas, TX 78373. This will be the last opportunity to get dues paid before the membership book is printed.

Hostesses will be this year ’s officers: Diane LaRue, president; Cheryl Campbell, first vice-president; Jean Peters, second vice president; Linda Zahn, secretary; Suzanne Brayman, treasurer and Debbie Kalke, special projects coordinator. Ambassadors will be Carolyn Chancellor and Betty Newman. The attire will be Texas casual.

This is the first of several events to be held in the evening to accomodate those who are unable to attend daytime gatherings.
