A softball tournament to benefit Port Aransas fishing boat Capt. John Stark,
John Stark
who was injured in a head-on collision on Aug. 13, continues today, Thursday, Aug. 26.
The tournament started Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Jerry McDonald Field at the corner of Alister Street and Avenue C.
Proceeds from the sale of drinks, hamburgers and hot dogs will go to Stark to offset medical expenses. Cash donations also will be accepted.
Play starts at 7 p.m.
Stark, who is captain of the Bill Busters II, was injured in a collision Friday, Aug. 13, on State Hwy. 361 between Port Aransas and Aransas Pass. He was taken by Halo Flight to Christus Spohn Hospital-Memorial in Corpus Christi where he faces multiple surgeries and months of rehabilitation.
An account has been established at American Bank to help offset his medical expenses.
