A softball tournament is being held this week to benefit Port Aransas fishing boat Capt. John Stark who was injured in a head-on collision recently.

The tournament starts Wednesday, Aug. 25 (not Tuesday), and continues Thursday, Aug. 26, at Jerry McDonald Field at the corner of Alister Street and Avenue C.

Proceeds from the sale of drinks, hamburgers and hot dogs will go to Stark to offset medical expenses. Cash donations also will be accepted.

Play starts at 7 o’clock both nights.
