Port Aransas has a new writers’ group, the Port A Pens. Members of this group established and led the creative writing group at the Community Presbyterian Church’s JELM Center, which has been meeting for more than 10 years.

The new group was formed in response to increased interest of members visiting during the winter season.

The JELM group will resume meeting when the center, located at 113 S. Alister St., reopens in October.

Port A Pens meets every Monday in the Bill Ellis Memorial Library community room, 710 W. Ave. A, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Membership is limited to 10-12 writers so that everyone has a chance to read and be critiqued.
