Giving it everything State qualifier, Kate Strain, will compete in the girls 11 and 12 swim division in Waco on Aug. 5-8. Strain advanced to the state level after placing first in both the 50-yard butterfly and the 100-yard individual medley at the Region 16 swim meet on July 10 and 11. She also placed third in the 50-yard breaststroke. She is the daughter of Cliff and Laurie Strain of Port Aransas. Twelve swimmers on the Port Aransas Swim Team earned spots at the state meet in Waco on Aug. 5-8. The swimmers advanced after competing last Saturday and Sunday, July 10 and 11, at the Region 16 swim meet held in Corpus Christi at the Natatorium.

Advancing to state Jenna Ward earned a spot at the state swim meet competition in August after competing in the Region 16 swim meet held in Corpus Christi on July 10 and 11.
