JUNE DAY-CAMPS WEDNESDAYS, THROUGH JULY 28 Summer reading program, ages 4-9, 11 am, Bill Ellis Memorial Library. This years’ statewide theme is “Catch the Reading Express!” and features weekly craft projects to promote reading, stimulate curiosity and encourage children to use library resources. The program is self-paced and fosters reading success by asking children to record titles of books that they have read. Pre-register at the library. Children are not required to attend each week. Summer visitors are welcome. Free. SATURDAYS, THROUGH JULY 31 Board games at the library, ages 8 and up, 11-12 p.m., meeting room, Play checkers, Yahtzee, Scrabble, Uno!, Pictionary, Clue, Rummikub and Blokus. Free. JUNE 29 TO JULY 1 Come Sail Basic, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., and 10:45 to 12 p.m., ages 10 and up, Community Park pool.Learn sailing basics on two-person sailboats in the pool. Lessons include mantling and dismantling the boats, learning nautical terms, then learning by doing basic sailing. Space is limited. Preregistration is required. JULY 6 TO 16 Swim lessons, ages 6 months to 12 years, 9:40 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Community Park Pool. Tuesdays- Fridays for 2 weeks. Residents; $6 first child, $5 second, $4 third child in the same family (maximum $15 per family.) Non-residents; $12, $10, $8 (maximum $30 per family.) Preregistration is required and will be held at the pool until Friday, July 2. Once classes are full, no further registrations will be accepted.
