Fish tourney to benefit cancer effort
Early registration for the second annual Young Texans Against Cancer “Bay Bash” in Port Aransas ends July 1.
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 31, for anglers of all levels.
Hosted by the San Antonio Chapter of YTAC, this redfish and trout fishing tournament benefits ThriveWell Cancer Foundation. The charitable foundation’s purpose is to provide support for persons suffering with cancer and their families, both physically and financially, and to support cancer research.
An individual division and guided division have been added to the tournament this year.
A check-in and mixer will be held Friday, July 30, at the Back Porch Bar, 132 W. Cotter Ave., from 6 to 9 p.m.
The tournament will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, at the Dennis Dreyer Municipal Harbor.
Weigh-in will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m., followed by a fish fry, awards party and a live auction from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Late registrations will be accepted until July 15. Late registrations will incur a fee of $20 for individuals and $75 for teams.
The entry fee is $65 for individuals and $250 for four-person teams. The entry fee must be paid in full by Friday, July 16. Team registration fees include four tournament t-shirts and four dinners with drinks. T-shirt upgrades will be available for Columbia shirts. Anglers may register at the check-in and mixer but will be subject to the late registration fee and may not receive their shirts at check-in.
