Donald Ray “Uncle Don” Avery died on Friday, April 16, 2010.

He was a former resident of Port Aransas who worked at several restaurants here.

Avery was born in Dallas on Nov.22, 1948, to Earl and Ruby Avery.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Avery. He is survived by his sisters, Pat (Rick) Fenton, of Aransas Pass and Pauline Grimes of Granbury, and 13 nieces and nephews.

Avery was buried next to his parents in Lamasco on Tuesday, April 20, at 12 p.m.
