Master sand sculptors Jon Woodworth of Leander, background, and Brad Goll of Austin, foreground, work on what was judged first place in the duo division at the 14th annual Texas SandFest. The event was held on the beach here from Friday, April 9, through Sunday, April 11. In the masters’ division, Karen Fralich of Canada, right, took first place in the solo division. Competition also was held for masters’ duo, amateur and youth divisions. The event also included vendors selling everything from food to beverages and merchandise. Live entertainment, fun and games for kids and free sand sculpting lessons were part of the fun. Turn to Pages 11A and 1B for results and more photos.
