They fish when they can
fishing weather, and anglers ate it up.

decent catches of tuna, snapper and
kingfish, while bay anglers bagged the
usual suspects: Redfish, black drum,
sheepshead and trout.
This next weekend promises another
decent, if chilly, opportunity.
John McNatt at Fisherman’s Wharf
reported nice catches of vermilion snapper,
kingfish and warsaw grouper on a trip
Sunday, Feb. 14. North jetty anglers have
been bringing in nice speckled trout and
some sheepshead, he said.
Scott Garrison at Deep Sea Headquarters
said their long-range trip brought
back blackfin tuna, amberjack and grouper, while shorter trips yielded vermillion
snapper, kingfish, shark and ling.
MaryAnn Heimann at Offshore Adventures
reported that bay anglers are
catching redfish and black drum and big
speckled trout in the shallow water.
John Dunn at Dolphin Dock said anglers
on a 36-hour offshore trip returning
Sunday, Feb. 14, brought in a 362-pound
mako shark, some African pompano,
amberjack and ling. Those who fished
on the state-water trip caught red snapper
and redfish.
Sandra Fudge at Woody’s Sports
Center said bay anglers caught redfish
and black drum at Roberts Point Park.
Jetty anglers caught mostly sheepshead,
while surf anglers caught whiting. Weather Watch will return next week |
