Lorette is candidate for school board
MICHELE LORETTE
Candidate for Place 4 on the Port Aransas Independent School District Board of Trustees, Michele Lorette, released the following statement.
“My name is Michele Lorette, and I am running for Port Aransas school board, Place 4.
“My husband, Nick, and I have two children in PAISD, Trout in fifth grade and Monique in third grade.
“A board member has an important legal and fiduciary responsibility that requires the commitment of time, personal skills and an ability to listen and respect all viewpoints. A board member has to monitor the fiscal health of the district, while keeping student achievement a priority. As a regular attendee of school board meetings, I have a clear understanding of what is involved in making this serious commitment.
“The welfare of all students will be my number one priority. It is important to listen and value all viewpoints and make decisions based on what will ultimately be best for our schools and our children. I look forward to collaborating and working with the community and other board members on the vision and goals of our school district.
“Communication between the board and our community is very important to me, ensuring the public is aware of the progress and challenges facing our district.
“My time is currently spent volunteering for Helping Hands at H.G. Olsen Elementary, a board member of the Port Aransas Education Foundation, and as a substitute teacher. In addition, I have been a Port Aransas Little League coach, Port Aransas Youth Soccer League board member, and continue to coach youth soccer teams.
“I would appreciate your support for PAISD school board, Place 4.”
