Nominations for chamber due tomorrow

Prospective members of the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce-Tourist Bureau should turn in their “bids” to have their names put in nomination by tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 4.

Volunteers for the board must be members in good standing (i.e., dues paid).

Those interested in having their names considered for the ballot should send biographical information, as well as reasons for wanting to serve, to the chamber, 403 W. Cotter Ave.

A nominating committee will review the submissions and select six nominees. Ballots will be mailed to members on Dec. 15. Completed ballots must be returned by Jan. 6.

Chamber members will select three board members from the six nominees.

Terms are expiring for board members Michael Ahlstrom and Stephanie Kenigsberg, who are ineligible to run again, and for Jim Triplett, who is completing his first term.

Terms are for three years, and directors may serve two terms.

Remaining directors whose terms expire in 2011 are Bill Bauder, Wendy Moore and Glenn Martin; directors whose terms expire in 2012 are Betty Turner, John Price and Suzette Freeman.

The new board and officers will be introduced at the annual membership luncheon on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
