An ex-convict wanted on suspicion of a parole violation was captured after a brief foot chase by law enforcement officers in Port Aransas on Friday, Oct. 30.
The incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. near North Gate shopping center, on Cut-off Road.
Deputies with the Nueces County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office arrested Frank Machovsky, 45, who had been living in the 700 block of Sixth Street, just off Cut-off Road, said Kelly Henson, one of the deputies on the scene.
Deputies went to Machovsky’s home with an arrest warrant charging him with a parole violation, Henson said. Machovsky wasn’t home, but a deputy spotted him walking nearby a short time later, Henson said.
The sighting turned into a foot chase that lasted about 30 seconds, ending when Machovsky stopped in the parking lot of the shopping center, and Henson grabbed him, took him to the ground and handcuffed him, Henson said.
Henson said he didn’t know the nature of the parole violation Machovsky with which Machovsky was charged. Machovsky was on parole after earlier being imprisoned on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was being held at the city jail in Port Aransas after his arrest, awaiting transfer to Nueces County Jail in Corpus Christi.
