Zahn

Margaret Earline Zahn, 86, died on Oct. 14, 2009, in Richland Hills. She was the mother of Charles (Linda) Zahn of Port Aransas.

Zahn was born April 18, 1923, in Jackson, Tenn. to Earl and Myrtle Pruett.

She was an active member of the Richland Hills Christian Church and served many years as an officer of the Tarrant County Veterinary Medicine Auxiliary, as a leader for the Boy Scouts of America, as well as a leader in the Girl Scouts of America. She also served as a member of the Tarrant County A & M Mother’s Club, and was involved, along with her children, in the Texas Age Group Swimming Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles W. Zahn.

Zahn is survived by three sons, Charles (Linda) W. Zahn Jr., of Port Aransas, George W. (Patsy) Zahn of Euless, and William Curtis Zahn of Irving; two daughters, Margaret Copher of Bedford and Linda (Larry) Skidmore of Irving; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Rene Zahn of Spring, Charles (Jessica) W. Zahn III of Spring Branch, Elisa Earline (Christopher) Risley of Trophy Club, George W. (Marla) Zahn Jr. of New Baden, Larry Elton (Sandy) Copher Jr. of Dallas, Margaret Anne (Bryan) Culver of Humble, Laura Elizabeth Copher of Bedford, Larry Dale Skidmore of Irving and Danny Skidmore of Irving; 13 greatgrandchildren, including Brittney Walker and Matthew Walker, both of Spring and frequent visitors to Port Aransas.

A private service was conducted at DFW National Cemetery Friday, Oct. 16, with her son, Charles W. Zahn Jr., officiating.
