Dye

Waldine Varilee Kensing Tuten Dye, 88, died Sept. 25, 2009. She was a former resident who returned to Port Aransas in January to spend her last days.

She was born in 1920 in Streeter, in Mason County.

Dye graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio in 1937, then attended the University of San Antonio.

In 1938 she married Howard B. Dye. She worked at the Bank of San Antonio for 25 years, retiring in 1985. Deaths/Funerals

During the 1960s she and her husband owned the Mustang Cottages in Port Aransas.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Benjamin August Kensing, Myrtle Minnie Hanson and adopted father James Alexander Tuten. Myrtle and James Tuten were former residents of Port Aransas.

She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Dye Meeks and Lorraine Dye (Paul) Lindsey; two sons, Howard B. (Sheila) Dye Jr. and Bruce Wayne Dye; nine grandchildren, and eight greatgrandchildren.

A funeral service will be held tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio. Interment will be at San Fernando Cemetery III, formerly Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul Lindsey, Brian Lindsey, Trey Dye, Ashlee Brumit, Herman Ludwig and Herman Ludwig Jr.
