High school offers dispatch and correctional programs
      Port Aransas High School is finding new ways to provide educations for students interested in law enforcement careers. This school year, PAHS fired up new programs that provide training for students interested in becoming police dispatchers or prison correctional officers.

Two guests featured at college info night
      A college information night for Port Aransas High School seniors and their parents on Monday, Sept. 28, will feature two special guests from Texas A&M University. Monica Caylor, admissions counselor, and Vernonica Blanco, financial aid advisor for Texas A&M University at College Station, will be on hand at the event.

      H.G. Olsen Elementary students are focusing on one character trait each month this school year. Honesty is the word for September. Through a variety of activities, students will demonstrate an understanding of honesty, truth, trust and fairness.

Volunteers, mentors invited to train
      Veteran and potential volunteers and mentors are invited to an orientation meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. in the Port Aransas ISD administration building, 100 S. Station St. Attendance at the meeting does not obligate anyone to become a mentor or volunteer. The purpose is to provide information about the programs.

Alice in Wonderland musical coming to Port Aransas theater
      A musical adaptation of Alice in Wonderland is coming to Port Aransas. On Friday, Oct. 23, the Express Children’s Theatre of Houston will perform Alice in Wonderland at the Port Aransas Community Theatre, 2327 State Hwy. 361.

      Parents of students at Port Aransas High School are invited to an open house Monday, Sept. 28. The event will be an opportunity for parents to meet teachers and administrators and visit their children’s classrooms. Hours will be 5:30 to 7 p.m.

      Trinity-by-the-Sea Day School is celebrating 10 years in operation. All current and former students, their families, friends, and anyone else interested in touring the school is invited to an open house on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
