Edna Marie McCafferty, 84, of Port Aransas, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 in Corpus Christi.

She was born July 23, 1925 to John and Ellen Hester Miller in Adams Township, Washington County, Ohio.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Port Aransas.

McCafferty was recognized as Business Woman of the Year twice in San Antonio. She founded LTC Answering Service, a specialty apartment answering service in San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and twelve brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, Patrick J. McCafferty of Port Aransas; a son, Patrick Joseph (Pamela) McCafferty Jr. of Seguin; three daughters, Sharon Hearn, Patricia Colleen (Houston) Browning and Kathleen Marie (Patrick) St. Clair, all of San Antonio; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Memorial Mass will be held in September at the Stella Maris Chapel in Lamar. Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
