Skate park a step closer
      A planned new skate park in Port Aransas is another step closer to reality. On Thursday, July 2, the Recreational Development Corporation (RDC) board approved a proposed 2009-10 budget of $769,549. Some $134,000 of the budget is targeted to help fund the cost of building a skate park within Port Aransas Community Park, said City Manager Michael Kovacs. The RDC budget next goes to a public hearing at 5 p.m. Aug. 24.
