McDonald Donald J. McDonald, 93, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 in Kenedy. He was a former resident of Port Aransas. McDonald was raised in Morales and Edna, served in the U.S. Army from 1942–1945 and moved to Port Aransas in 1945. He was the manager of CPL Electric Company for 40 years. In 1979 he retired and moved to Pawnee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Volso A. and Alice McDonald; his wife, Doris McDonald; a son, Jerry C. McDonald; three sisters, Nellie Ellison, Mary Newton and Polly Chivers. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McDonald of Kenedy; a son, Linley L. McDonald of Kenedy; a sister, Eunice Hicks of Edna; a former daughter-in-law, Tootie Barnes of Port Aransas; a sisterin law, Ila Mae Emerson of Edna; five grandchildren, Raymond (Sherry) Boultt of Fort Worth, Linley L. (Tasha) McDonald Jr. of Ingleside, Brett (Janet) McDonald of Pawnee, Barett (Shelly) McDonald of Cibolo and Kathy Hale of Giddings and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 29, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Port Aransas, followed by a military graveside service at Royal Palm Cemetery in Port Aransas.
