Tom Lamb- ertson, 82, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in San Antonio. He was a long-time resident of Port Aransas and was named Boatman of the Year in 1990. Lambertson was born in Mercedes on July 26, 1926, to Joe and Fannie Lambertson. At age 18, Lambertson enrolled in the University of Oklahoma as an officer candidate. While there, he met his future wife, Francelle Rice. They were married on the same day he graduated as an ensign. More ... Donald J. McDonald, 93, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 in Kenedy. He was a former resident of Port Aransas. McDonald was raised in Morales and Edna, served in the U.S. Army from 1942–1945 and moved to Port Aransas in 1945. He was the manager of CPL Electric Company for 40 years. In 1979 he retired and moved to Pawnee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Volso A. and Alice McDonald; his wife, Doris McDonald; a son, Jerry C. McDonald; three sisters, Nellie Ellison, Mary Newton and Polly Chivers. More ... |
