Deckhand Ron Martin found and returned a ferry passenger’s wallet containing more than $150 and credit cards early Saturday, May 30. But when the relieved passenger offered a reward, Martin declined it. That’s partly because he was complying with the policy of the Texas Department of Transportation, he said. Even if that wasn’t TxDOT’s policy, he probably wouldn’t have accepted a reward, he said.

PASTOR’S PEN
Faith is like rain
I almost forgot what rain looked like. Around my house we jokingly said it was almost like seeing your first snowfall. It is amazing to see how God put nature in place. After the rainfall, the air was crisp and clear, the grass started to turn green (almost immediately) and my trees started looking better. It was a little too late to save my tomato plants, but my trees sure did appreciate it. Because of the rain, I will now get to watch my young guava, orange and avocado trees develop and hopefully produce like I wanted when I purchased them.
