Snapper season is open and summer fish are in
Summer is definitely here. Seemingly overnight, the summer fish moved in and are being caught by the boatload. Several accounts of sailfish caught just off the end of the jetties were reported, a blue marlin was released, and plenty of ling, wahoo and dorado were caught. By all accounts, the opening day of red snapper season was a huge success, with several boats bringing in limits.

In Port Aransas, this just happens to coincide with the Take a Kid Fishing Tournament (see story.)
