Remember how exciting it was when the Mercer house was moved last year?

You can relive those days and celebrate with the Port Aransas Preservation and Historical Association on the anniversary of the move on Thursday, April 23.

Festivities will begin at the original location of the house at the corner of Roberts and Oleander streets at 6 p.m.

Mayor Claude Brown will make opening remarks. Participants will then walk, via the route the house was moved, to where the museum is now located and open.

At 6:30 p.m., a champagne toast will be made, the birthday cake will be cut, and fellowship will begin.

At 7 p.m., a video of the house moving will be shown.

PAPHA founder John Fucik will then speak about the history of the organization; Museum Director Rick Pratt will speak about the present and future of the museum. PAPHA Treasurer Bruce Reynolds will speak about finances.

The event is free and open to the public.
