Early voting starts Monday
Early voting in elections for city council and school board positions in Port Aransas starts Monday, April 27.
The early voting will continue through May 5. Election day is Saturday, May 9. Voting in both instances will be at the Community Center, 408 N. Alister St.
Voting hours Monday through Friday, April 27 - May 1, are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Hours Saturday, May 2, will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Monday and Tuesday, May 4 and 5, voting hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Requests for ballots to be mailed to voters who will be out of town during the voting period must be received at city hall by Friday, May 1. Requests should be sent to City Secretary Esther Arzola, 710 W. Ave. A, Port Aransas, TX 78373.
On the city ballot will be one contested race for Place 1 between incumbent Keith Donley and challenger Elleece Calvert
Charles Bujan in Place 3 and Rick Pratt in Place 5, are unopposed in their bids for re-election. Bujan is completing is first two-year term and Pratt is completing his second term.
Place 1 incumbent on the school board, Margaret Price faces challenger Christina Brundrett-Milligan. Trustees are not subject to term limits and terms are for three years.
