Golfers regional-bound

The Lady Marlins golf team earned a berth at the regional tournament by virtue of a second place finish at district on Monday, April 13.
The tournament was played in Kingsville at the L.E. Ramey Golf course.
Lady Marlins on the team are Kelsey Ortiz, Katie Voyles, Hannah Jones, Kelsey Abel and Emily Scott.
The regional tournament will be Monday, and Tuesday, April 20-21, in Brenham.
"Not everybody played their best round at district this year, but if you played golf long enough, you know that those types of days just happen," said Coach Steve Reaves.
"I am very pleased with how the season went. We are improving overall," Reaves said.
"When you look at our scores as a whole for the year we have made big improvements. Most of these kids will be back next year, and I am really looking forward to seeing how much they can improve again," he added.
