The core, a Christian youth musical group, will be leading worship at the 11 a.m. service at Community Presbyterian Church, 113 S. Alister St. on Sunday, April 19.

The core regularly performs as the worship band for the youth church at 12:30 p.m. on Sundays. The youth church is held at the loft, in the upstairs of the Pollock center, 129 S. Alister St.The public is invited to attend.

They will perform at the Relay For Life on April 24 and the group is currently booking worship events all over the state of Texas, according to director Ken Yarbrough. They also plan to host a variety of events this summer in Port Aransas, said Yarbrough.

Members of the core are: Ken Yarbrough, director, keyboards and vocals; Mike Jones, guitar and vocals; Cody Angel, guitar and vocals; Kolton Loomis, guitar; John Amundsen, bass guitar; Matt Bartlett, drums;

Michelle Arnold, percussion; Ashley Hendricks, Kelsea Yarbrough, Cathryn Yarbrough, Clare Jones and

Melissa Estrada, vocals; Ty Morris, vocals and guitar and Jason Morris, sound, video and technical wizardry.
