The Port Aransas Community Theatre will hold auditions tonight, Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m. for its upcoming production of "Dinner With Friends," by Pulitzer Award-winning playwright Donald Margulies.

Auditions will be at the theater, 2327 State Hwy. 361. Parts are available for two male and two female actors who will portray couples in their 40s.

Volunteers are also needed to work backstage, assisting with scene and costume changes during performances.

The play is a story of two couples that have been close for 12 years, sharing the raising of their children, trials and tribulations over meals together. Now, one couple is having woes and each is faced with how to handle the end of a marriage, and possibly a friendship.

The play, directed by live-theater veteran Michelle Guarino of Kingwood, will run Thursdays through Saturday evenings April 30 through May 16, with a final matinee on Sunday, May 17.

The rehearsals will be determined by the cast, but are usually about 7 to 9 p.m., as many nights as possible, up to opening night.
