Lady Marlins fall to D'Hanis

... But coach lauds island girls

Loss ends season

The Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins fell to the D’Hanis Cowgirls, 30-41, in the area championships in Beeville on Saturday, Feb. 21.
The loss ends the season for the Lady Marlins, but their coach, Stephanie Foerster, commended the team.
“Our kids competed tonight, and our community can be proud of that,” Foerster said. “They represented Port Aransas well.
“I couldn’t have asked for them to play any harder,” Foerster said. “I’m so proud of these kids.”
The loss on Saturday came after the Lady Marlins won the bi-district championship by beating the Bruni Badgers Feb. 16.
