BMS wins one, loses one against Woodsboro teams

The Lady Marlin teams of Brundrett Middle School split a pair of games with their Woodsboro counterparts on Jan. 22.

The seventh-grade Lady Marlins lost to Woodsboro, 22-25. The eighth-grade Port Aransas girls beat their opponents, 38-12.

Lady Marlin scorers in the seventh grade game were: Savannah Ortiz, 15; Devon Murray, four; Vivian Frank, three; and Haley Scott, one.

Port Aransas scorers in the eighthgrade game : Anna Roberson, nine; Jenna Socha, seven; Missy Gilbreath, six; Megan Forrest, five; Jessica Borden, four; Bella Flake, four; Maddison Shannon, two; and Alicia Smallwood, one.

BMS Lady Marlins coach Javier Mendoza had praise for both of his teams.

"The girls were more focused today than I have seen them all season," Mendoza said.
