Yorktown beats Lady Marlins JV

The Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins JV suffered a mauling from the Yorktown Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Marlins fell to their opponents, 15-29, in a home game on Friday, Jan. 16.

The Port Aransas girls kept up with the Lady Wildcats at first, ending the first quarter with the score at 5-5. But Yorktown pulled ahead after that, outscoring the Lady Marlins 8-0 in the second quarter.

Lady Marlin scorers: Katie Voyles, 6; Samantha Richardson, 4; Kelsey Abel, 2; Nycole Chambers, 2; and Kalani Balcom, 1.

The JV's season record is 9-4. The team is 0-1 in district competition.
