A memorial service for Betty Lou Holt will be held today, Thursday, Jan. 8.

The service will be at 5 p.m. at the Island in the Son Methodist Church on State Hwy. 361 on Padre Island.

Holt, 53, of Corpus Christi, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009.

She was owner of Still Waters Day Spa in Port Aransas.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1955 in Whittier, Calif. She attended nursing school there and was a registered nurse for 25 years. She then became a licensed massage therapist in 1998. In 2006, she became certified as a massage therapy instructor for Austin School of Massage.

Holt was preceded in death by her parents, David and Doris Patterson.

She is survived by her husband Danny Holt, who is employed in Port Aransas at Miss K Catering; her son Bryce Patterson, both of Corpus Christi; her three brothers, David Patterson of Beaver, Ore., John Patterson of Rancho Murieta, Calif., and Michael Patterson of Pinion Hills, Calif. and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, an educational fund for her son, will be set up at Frost Bank.
