Barbecue to benefit Bearden

A benefit barbecue and auction will be held for Glenn Bearden this Saturday, July 19, at 4 p.m. The event will be held at the Moore-McDonald Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8967, at 311 N. Alister St., Port Aransas.

Bearden served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He and his wife Sue moved to Port Aransas in 1990. Both have contributed signifi- cant time and resources to the VFW.

The public is invited to the barbecue dinner, which will be served for $5 a plate. Many items donated by local businesses will be auctioned.
