Schedules change for holiday

Get your banking done and put out the trash for the Independence Day holiday.

Banks in Port Aransas will be closed Friday, July 4, but trash will be collected on the normal schedule.

City hall will be closed, but the city's first responders (police, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel) will be on duty.

The South Jetty newspaper office will be closed on Friday as well, and regular deadlines for next week's edition will be in effect.

Letters to the editor must be received by 10 a.m. Monday. Noon Tuesday is the deadline for news and advertising.
