Activities listed will be held at the Girl Scout hut, 739 W. Ave. A, unless otherwise noted. Activities are for children age five and up, and cost $2 for the first child, $1 for additional children. Parents are welcome at no charge. Call 749-4158 two days in advance to register.

Thursday, June 12

• Book Buddies- Bring favorite stuffed animal for reading adventure, books provided. 10 a.m.

June 16 - 20

• UTMSI Field Science Camp- "Life as an Oceanographer." Call parks and rec at 749-4158 for more information

• Board Bonanza- Variety of board games, free, 2:30 p.m.

• Chill Out Time- Make sand candles, 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday, June 18

• Art Adventure- Girl Scout Hut from 1 to 3:30 p.m. $5 per child ages 5 and older. Call parks and rec at 749-4158 for more information, and registration.

• Summer Reading- Ellis Memorial Library, 10 to 11 a.m., ages 4-9, reading and crafts, no charge.

Thursday, June 19

• Sandcastles with Steve- Make sandcastles on the beach by the Horace Caldwell Pier, 10 a.m.

• Chill Out Time- Make photo buttons, bring a photo or we will make one for you, 2:30 p.m.

• Birding 101- Indian Point on Hwy 181 near Portland, 9-11 a.m. Call 749-6806 for more information.

Saturday, June 21

• Water Wackiness, after-hours fun at the Community Park Pool, 700 Clark Parkway, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $1 for kids under 18, $2 for ages 19-59 and $1 for over 60.

• Recycle household items to help summer programs for the community. Needed are; baby jars, pint and quart cardboard cartons, heavy boxes of all sizes, cellophane, used taper candles of any size, small silk flowers, throws or soft blankets, throw pillows, tissue paper, toilet paper and paper towel rolls. • Registration for the Port Aransas Latchkey Program will not be held until Aug. 18.
